Top 10 Bucket List Destinations

When you close your eyes and imagine your dream getaway, where do you picture yourself? A romantic overwater bungalow in Bora Bora? A charming vineyard estate in Tuscany? A breathtaking cliffside retreat in Santorini?

I recently asked my friends and family about their bucket-list travel destinations, and their answers were as inspiring as they were diverse. Some dream of adventure—hiking to Machu Picchu or chasing the Northern Lights—while others long for cultural immersion in cities like Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Cape Town. Some kept it broad, simply saying "Caribbean" or "Europe," eager to explore wherever the journey takes them.

But when it came down to specific countries, these were the top dream destinations:

✨ Iceland – Majestic waterfalls, glaciers, and the magical Northern Lights
✨ Greece – Whitewashed villages, sun-drenched islands, and deep blue seas
✨ New Zealand – Jaw-dropping scenery and epic adventures
✨ Hawaii – Lush paradise with golden beaches and vibrant culture
✨ Scotland – Fairytale castles, rugged coastlines, and world-class whisky
✨ French Polynesia – Luxurious overwater bungalows and turquoise lagoons
✨ France – Chic city escapes, wine country retreats, and Riviera glamour
✨ Switzerland – Snow-capped peaks, serene lakes, and five-star alpine retreats

Some of these were expected, but a few surprised me—like how many people dream of Iceland! And while England certainly made the list, I was shocked it didn’t break the top 10. I was also thrilled to see French Polynesia, home to some of the world’s most idyllic island escapes.

🦁 South Africa – Safari adventures and stunning wine country
